The KiddiEngineering Program is a two week summer program for middle school students. During the program the students learn about engineering and the effects of natural hazards. Upon conclusion of the program, students form groups and build LEGO buildings to be tested on the instructional shaking table.

Florida-Georgia Louis Stokes Alliance for Minority Participation (FGLSAMP)
The Florida-Georgia Louis Stokes Alliance for Minority Participation project is a coalition of twelve academic institutions in Florida and Georgia.

The ultimate goal of FGLSAMP is to increase production of underrepresented minority graduates in the areas of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics with B.S., M.S., and Ph.D degrees.

Girls in Science Program
The GIS Program provides students with a totally nontraditional outlook on math and science, with emphasis on increasing the number of young women who pursue careers in these fields. This program is instituted to introduce students with math and science-related fields. The students served are in the age range of 11 to 15 or in grades 6 to 11. The afterschool program develops skills and knowledge required in mathematics, science, and technology careers. Participants are challenged through hands-on activities.
